What is BidConvey?
BidConvey is South Africa's conveyancer selection platform. It provides buyers and sellers with a structured, transparent and fair process to jointly appoint a transfer conveyancer, while creating fair access to work for conveyancers.
Is BidConvey an auction platform?
BidConvey is NOT an auction platform. Each conveyancer submits one confidential quotation together with their service offering. Quotations remain sealed and cannot be viewed or changed in response to another conveyancer's submission. Selection is based on service first and value second.
Does BidConvey comply with the Legal Practice Council (LPC) Rules?
Yes. BidConvey is designed to operate within the framework of the Legal Practice Act, the LPC Rules and its own Code of Conduct. The platform promotes transparency, fairness and equal access to work without encouraging improper solicitation or fee undercutting.
Does BidConvey earn any fees from Conveyancers?
No. BidConvey does not receive any referral fees, neither does it charge Conveyancers per instruction. The platform is completely free for Conveyancers at this point.
How is my service offering known to BidConvey?
Conveyancers will provide their service offering directly to BidConvey as part of the registration process. Pertinent information is available to buyers and sellers for the purposes of decision making. Service offerings may be updated or amended as deemed fit by the registered Conveyancer.
Who appoints the conveyancer?
The appointment is a shared decision. The seller first shortlists the most suitable service offerings. The buyer then makes the final selection from the shortlisted conveyancers.
Does BidConvey collect or receive transfer fees?
No. BidConvey does not collect or receive transfer fees. The Conveyancer appointed on the platform will collect and invoice the buyer directly in accordance with the sale agreement.

Who can register?
Any South African conveyancer holding a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate and meeting BidConvey's verification and compliance requirements may register.
Is registration free?
Registration is free. Only registered and verified conveyancers can submit quotations when opportunities become available.
Why do I need to be verified?
Verification helps protect buyers, sellers and fellow conveyancers by ensuring that only qualified and compliant conveyancers participate on the platform.
What information is verified?
Verification may include:
- Admission as a conveyancer,
- Fidelity Fund Certificate,
- Practice details,
- Professional contact information,
- Regulatory compliance, and
- Other supporting documentation, where required.
How are quotation requests allocated?
BidConvey allocates quotation opportunities according to its platform rules, taking into account factors such as location, availability and other operational criteria designed to provide fair access to work.
Will I receive every quotation request?
No. Only eligible conveyancers who meet the platform's allocation criteria, which is primarily based on the conveyancer's location (Province), will receive a quotation request.
Can I change my quotation after submitting it?
No. Once submitted, quotations are sealed and cannot be amended or withdrawn unless the request itself is cancelled.
Can I see what other conveyancers have quoted?
No. All quotations remain confidential throughout the process.
Do buyers see every quotation?
No. The seller first shortlists the preferred service offerings. The buyer only receives the shortlisted quotations for final selection.
Does the seller see my quotation amount?
No. The seller evaluates the service offering only when creating the shortlist. Pricing is revealed to the buyer during the final selection stage.
How important is price?
Price is only one factor. BidConvey encourages conveyancers to display professionalism, communication, experience, technology, service standards and value. All factors considered, the cheapest quotation may not necessarily be the best value.
Am I guaranteed work?
No. Registration provides access to quotation opportunities but does not guarantee instructions.
How will buyers evaluate me?
Buyers compare shortlisted conveyancers based on:
- Service offering
- Professional profile
- Technology and communication
- Turnaround commitments
- Quotation amount
Can I decline a quotation request?
Yes. If you are unavailable or unable to meet the required timelines, you will miss the opportunity, or you may simply choose not to submit a quotation.
Are there limits on the number of matters I can handle?
BidConvey encourages responsible quoting. Conveyancers should only submit quotations where they have sufficient capacity to provide excellent service.
Can I market directly to buyers through BidConvey?
No. The platform is designed to provide equal opportunities to conveyancing work. You will not have access to buyers until such time as you have been instructed. In which event, you will then, independently of the platform be able to market your other legal services.
How does BidConvey maintain fairness?

What happens after I am appointed?
Once appointed, your details are released to the buyer, seller and estate agent. The conveyancing process then proceeds directly between your firm and the parties in the normal manner.
Does BidConvey manage the transfer?
No. BidConvey facilitates the conveyancer selection process only. The appointed conveyancer manages the transfer in the ordinary course of practice.
